CARE / INSTRUCTION

Full Face masks are designed for casual surface snorkeling. Strenuous swimming and free diving are NOT recommended for a full face snorkel mask. If diving is what you’re looking for, try our traditional Kradan Snorkel set! Make sure to take regular breaks while snorkeling, and always follow the buddy rule. Never snorkel alone, and have fun!

PREPARATION:

Visually inspect your mask for any damage that may have occurred during shipping or potential rare manufacturing defects. While holding the mask to your face breathe through the mask to ensure there is nothing obstructing the inhale or exhale ports.

  • Pre-treat your mask before every use to remove any residue that could result in fogging. Before first use, try a regular and non-abrasive white toothpaste to remove any potential residue (do not use gels or gritty paste as this will scratch your lens). Toothpaste contains silica which will help to remove small particles from your mask. Put a dab of toothpaste on the inside of the lens and gently rub it around in a circular motion. Rinse the toothpaste off. Use a soft, dry wash cloth to dry. Repeat as needed. Once the mask is clean and ready for use, attach the breathing tube. Make sure the breathing tube is clear of debris and air flows freely through the mask.

  • For further maintenance, switch to a rental baby shampoo between uses.

    CHECKING THE SEAL:

  • Pull the straps of the mask over your head to check the fit. If the mask is too loose or too tight, take the mask off of your face and adjust the straps accordingly. Do not over tighten.

  • To stimulate water pressure, lightly press the mask against your face, and breathe normally to ensure you have a good seal around the edges of the mask and around the nose bridge. Without a proper seal around your nose and cheeks, air flow may be impacted and the chances of fogging may increase.

  • For an optimal experience, shave any facial hair you may have to increase a proper seal, and prevent leaking.

    USE:

  • Once in the water, swim on the surface and breathe calmly through your mouth or nose. If you feel light-headed, remove the mask immediately. Keeping your chin slightly up will create the best breathing experience.

  • If you feel any obstruction to your breathing, it may be due to the snorkel being covered in water temporarily. The dry top snorkel design will prevent water from entering through the top of the snorkel. If water leaks into your mask, simply lift your head out of the water and it will drain out of the chin valve. No need to remove your mask!

    TO CLEAN:

  • Rinse and soak with tap water using a small amount of detergent to help with cleaning. Wipe the mask down with a microfiber or non-abrasive towel to prevent water spots and then allow the mask to air dry. Store the mask in a protected space, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight and black rubber as it could stain the silicone insert. Avoid leaving the mask in sandy area when not in use.

Design Story.

  • Breathe Naturally.

Our patented Flowtech system has two chambers and 4 intake valves, allowing air to flow freely through your nose and mouth. The one-way valves and separate breathing chamber ensure that fresh air is always circulating through the mask. 50% easier work of breath, and airflow resistance that is well within EN250 work of breathing standards.

  • 180° Full View.

The SV2 has been built with intention. Our lens has been designed and refined to allow for up to 20% more viewing area over current full-face snorkel mask options. With a panoramic view, we’ve created a better immersive experience, compared to standard snorkel masks or any other traditional goggle design. You won’t miss a thing.

  • Durable Materials.

Lightweight, polycarbonate lens and frame, and medical grade silicone. Expert comfort and security. Designed with durable straps and a quick release feature, fully adjust your mask with ease. Our materials help make it easy for you to get the right fit, so you can take full advantage of features and swim stress-free.

  • Anti Leak & Fog.

Say goodbye to leaking. The ergonomic fit and grip of our medical grade silicone is dialed. The better the fit and quality, the less fogging and leaking. We checked both boxes. If any water does sneak in, you can use the auto-drain design without needing to remove the mask. Feel comfortable next time you’re in the water.

Poor fit

The mask left gaps on both sides near my eyes and let water leak in.

Not good

Bought several masks for my family to use snorkeling in Mexico and the pieces just don't work well and aren't functional for ocean use. Personally, I tried a number of sizes and the seal is not good which leads to frequently having to unmask to clear water, a process made all the more difficult by straps that have trouble staying the correct length to maintain a better seal. These are ok for pool use, but I would never take them on a serious snorkeling tour again.

Fantastic Snorkel

My wife and I have been to Hawaii 7 times and many other places where we've snorkeled throughout the years. We now take our adult children. We started with the regular masks in the 90's. Graduated to full face masks years ago. We've had several. Personally, I really like this mask. I've read the other reviews and what a lot of people complain about is garbage. You need to know how to treat this stuff and how to wear it. Many people who only use their equipment once a year for vacation don't get this right. First, sand creates a ton of trouble. Even a little sand in the o-ring area between the snorkel and the tube where the tube attaches will create water leaks coming in the tube. I don't care what brand; I've noticed this on all my full-face masks. KEEP YOUR MASK OFF THE BEACH when you come out of the water. Second, like they say in the marketing stuff, shave... any stubble or facial hair complicates the seal as well as any sand that's in the seal area. Third, don't overtighten the top of the mask against your forehead. I'm not sure how to best explain this; you just need to get the hang of it. But, for a while, I used to keep cranking on the mask to go tighter and tighter and realized that I wasn't letting the seal do its job. You need to go for even pressure across the entire facemask and not have a lot of compression on the top by your forehead. That's it, not too complicated. But, many people do not get these 3 simple points right. If you do, and you have the right size, this mask will work just fine for hours of continuous snorkeling.

Last thing to mention, right where the snorkel tube clips to the snorkel, I cracked the clip (it's mounted on a plate with 4 screws). This is a bummer, when you get in the water, the tube will pop off pretty easily and you're breathing seawater at that point. To me, this seems to be the Achilles-heel of the snorkel. Just be careful when you're pressing on this clip that you don't snap it. I will say that my customer service experience was fantastic (unlike most customer service these days). Yes, I had to email them. Yes, they wanted a picture of my cracked snorkel tube clip. But, once I provided that, they took care of me immediately and in a very short time so that I could have this fixed for my upcoming trip back to Maui in 2 days:) I'm super happy with their customer service.
